Sankalpa: Manifestation + Transformation

Intention is the cornerstone of every action and response you’ll endure in life.

Setting a clear and focused intention creates a ripple effect in our consciousness and helps us align with our deepest desires and aspirations.

Sankalpa is a Sanskrit term that refers to a heartfelt intention or a positive affirmation we set for ourselves. In the yogic tradition, Sankalpa is seen as a powerful tool for manifestation, transformation, and personal growth.

Using your sankalpa as a basis for manifesting your desires and how you react to situations in your life gives you a solid foundation for making better decisions and being more self-aware.

Manifestation with Sankalpa

The process of finding your sankalpa involves listening to your inner self. Your genuine desire already exists within you, and it's waiting for you to acknowledge, perceive and experience it. You don't have to create it artificially, and you don't need to search for it frantically with your mind.

Manifestation is the cosmic response to our true desires. We become what we think, feel, and believe. Using Sankalpa here guides your energy toward positive desires and rejects negative thought patterns about your abilities, situation, or chances.

Manifestation isn’t always positive, either. When we focus on the negative, we tend to manifest the negative. This is why it’s so important to focus your sankalpa on a positive affirmation you can meditate on.

Using Sankalpa In Practice

It’s important to remember that mere repetition of the sankalpa is not sufficient to make it come to fruition. When you express your desire, a part of you acknowledges that you lack it. Continuously repeating what you want reinforces the belief that you do not possess it. This approach reinforces a mindset of deficiency, and when the unconscious mind functions from a place of inadequacy, it undermines the energy required to uphold your intention.

It is common to use "I want" for desire and "I will" or "I won't" for intention, but these phrases don't fully capture the level of commitment that arises from a genuine heartfelt desire and alignment with one's purpose. Sankalpa is not a request or a plea, but rather a declaration of a truth that is strongly held and a promise that is presently true.

To create a Sankalpa, choose a positive and affirmative statement that resonates with your heart and reflects your deepest desires. The statement should be simple, clear, and in the present tense. You might also want to repeat your Sankalpa regularly, either silently or aloud, to help reinforce it in your mind and heart.

Sankalpa For Transformation

After establishing your sankalpa, the next step is to cultivate sankalpa shakti, the energy that propels you to take action toward achieving your intentions.

Your choices and decisions either bolster or weaken your resolve, even those seemingly unrelated to your intention. Hence, every conscious decision you make is an opportunity to strengthen sankalpa. To reinforce this energy, it's crucial to pause between the urge to act and reciting your sankalpa. This pause allows your mind to settle and unify with your intention. Taking a few mindful breaths and finding the gap between them can aid in achieving this state.

Even missed opportunities can be used to strengthen your resolve, by reflecting on them and preparing for future choices.
