Do what matters or in traditional sense, own your karma before it owns you. Today, I'll discuss a powerful truth with you that the spiritual community often doesn't discuss. And I assure you this teaching can potentially transform your life.
Now, I bet you have heard this many times that this teaching or my teaching will change your life completely. But the reason I say it with a certain conviction, faith, and trust is because this teaching is changing my life. It's changing the lives of my students. It has been one of the most powerful tools I continue to go to when I am in conflict, when I feel stagnant, and stuck.
Now, my point so far is every day, millions of people read books, listen to motivational talks, dream about the lives they want to live. Yet so many of them remain stuck—stuck in unhappy marriages, stuck in jobs they dislike, and worst of all, stuck with brilliant ideas that never see the light of day.
Why do you think it happens? Why do we consume so much information and inspiration and yet fail to take action? The truth is a lack of doing sabotages your growth. A lack of imagination ruins your passion, a lack of courage butchers your brilliant ideas, and above all, a lack of passiveness, a lack of feminine energy, a lack of shakti, a lack of receptivity will paralyze even your most brilliant genius plans.
In the end, you simply become stuck in your own mind, in the stories you tell yourself, and their resistance continues to multiply. In my journey, I reached a point where I left all the clients, organizations, and facilities where I was working and providing my services for many, many years. And this is all part of the spiritual work.
I realized my karma contract was done with them. I only wanted to work with students, clients, and organizations who would push me to become a better teacher. I call this a hard reset, where you make decisions that seem impractical and even illogical or unsafe to many around you. But only you know and feel that if I don't hit this hard reset, I'll continue to be stuck. I'll continue to operate in a lukewarm energy.
You can apply this concept to your spiritual, romantic, or professional journey. Remember this: transformation demands that you lead with a monk mindset and a warrior lifestyle, but also a gentle, powerful blend of shakti, the divine feminine. Because anything less will keep you in the same old pattern that you do not like.
And this resistance continues to be there because the mind is a master storyteller. It will create narratives that strengthen your resistance to change. You'll tell yourself repeatedly that you can't move forward because of money, because of your city, because of family, because of self-imposed narratives and restrictions that only limit you.
In this episode, I want to share the top resistance, the top few resistances you will face and how to change, how to fix, how to move beyond them. If this sounds fun and exciting, continue to listen. I am Chandresh Bhardwaj, and this is the Lila Show.
Now, must everyone? I hope you are doing great. You're doing excellent. Number one resistance we want to talk about here is money. Now, money is one of the biggest barriers that your mind will create. Whenever you think of outgrowing the old limiting pattern, the mind will tell you you can't afford to follow your passion. It's not for you.
These ideas are fancy. They are for the privileged ones. They are for the kids from wealthy families. They are for everyone else. But you. Or sometimes you build the courage to follow your expression, to follow your art, to follow that dream, that vision. But then you get a phone call from your mom, from your dad. And they ask you, do you need money this month? Are you sure you can pay the bills?
While you know you can pay the bills, while you know that you'll manage to pay the bills, this voice of the people who raised you, the voice of people who have given birth to you, when they have such a major doubt on you, and they are simply asking, have you officially failed, or are you still going to make one more attempt? This just ruins and butchers the confidence of many kids. But if this is you, continue listening.
So I have been a spiritual advisor for 14 years full time now. And even before that, I used to assist in the research for Tantra, astrology, and goddesses for my teacher. So my first unpaid job with my teacher was somewhere around—I don't know—I was in sixth grade or so. But yeah, in the last 14 years, I have spiritually guided established multimillionaires and young aspiring yoga teachers.
And they both have valued spiritual work, and the common trait between these two very different kinds of people was that they were willing to change their lives irrespective of what was happening around them. And now I have also come across people who would use money as an excuse or reason not to do the work. But the sad part is even after you remove that barrier of money, they'll still not do the work.
I learned this hard lesson after I would reduce my fee from, you know, let's say from 100 to 10. And they're still like, yeah, I can't, I've spent thousands, but I can't spend this 10. So that's when I realized this is a pattern. This is not me or them. It's just a narrative that continues to dominate many people.
So there is an author, Matt Khan. He wrote something so beautiful: despite how open, peaceful, and loving you attempt to be, people will meet you only as deeply as they have met themselves. Now, this is a classic case of your vibe attracts your tribe. You can't change other people, but you can change your vibe so that you attract a better tribe.
Because the truth is while one can blame a lack of money or willingness to spend money, lack of willingness to spend money to move forward in life, often it's about prioritizing and making conscious choices. When I left the finance industry, I was not getting paid much in the job itself, but I had access to plenty of resources in the stock market. So I had saved some money.
So after I left Wall Street, I spent a lot of that money and energy and time in educating myself in the advanced tantra work, traveling with my teachers, and really honing my craft. And later on, when I started to actually have clients and build this work, I started investing in writing coaches, business strategists, social media experts to just understand how the heck do I bring this ancient wisdom to the public, to the people who need it.
Because it's easy to think, plan, blame, complain. But to move the needle, something needs to happen. And the resistance to spend money for me was very strong. I don't come from a family of financial abundance. I come from a family of spiritual abundance, not so much of financial abundance. And I have, you know, just like many of you, perhaps, you know, memories of parents working hard to survive, thrive, and succeed in life. I've seen my parents doing it.
So it was really important for me to make sure I track the code, you know, to let go of this resistance, and it came in handy to learn the law of conscious abundance. It worked for me. But what exactly it is, I'll explain through a story. Now, pay attention to this story that changed my life. It's a story of a yogi, a mystic in the Himalayas who was meditating on goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, the goddess of abundance.
He was meditating consistently on her for years. And one day, Lakshmi got his appearance and asked him, "What do you want?" And he says, "I want you to come home with me." She looks at him, smiles, and said, "Why do you want me to come home with you?" He said, "Because I have a room for you, you stay there, you relax and you give me what you give: abundance."
And she said, "I respect the amount of devotion, the consistency, the love, the faith you put in this whole sadhana, your spiritual practice. But I can't come with you. I don't come with people. In fact, if anyone tries to hoard me, control me, or possess me, I run far, far away because I'm like a river. I'm fluid. I'm playful. I'm meant to be here, there, and everywhere."
So he realizes—the yogi, the teacher—his mistake, his ego in that moment. And he asks for forgiveness. And he said, "I forgot who you are and my ego, my mind wanted to control you so that I could become powerful." And he said, "Could I bring the goddess of wisdom with me? Can I invite her? Can she bless me so that I can go back to my roots, my root of wisdom, education, studying the ancient knowledge?"
And then Saraswati appears, the goddess of wisdom, creativity, and speech. And the teacher says, "Could you come with me?" And Saraswati says, "I'll come with you. But the way I come, my form will join you because I'm formless. And when my one form joins you, remember, no one can take away that form from you. It's yours forever. It's yours to nurture."
And the teacher feels grateful and he bows down to both goddesses and he starts to walk with one form of goddesses beside him. And he hears a footstep behind him. Now, here's when everything changes. He looks behind, and goddess Lakshmi is walking behind him. He's like, "Why are you following us?" She said, "Oh, I'm coming with you."
And the teacher is like, "But you just said, you can't come with me." She said, "No
